Our Research

Prof. Jacob Shelley’s research in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute centers on the development of new hardware and software tools for mass spectrometry and optical spectroscopy, which enable rapid and sensitive detection and identification of analytes in complex matrices.  Specifically, our group approaches these tasks through developmentfundamental characterization, and application of instrumentation.
